  金兰,博士,在中国清华大学获得电机工程学位和在前苏联莫斯科动力学院获得电机工程副博士学位。自1957年开始他担任中国清华大学计算机科学与工程系副教授、教授。1984-1987年他会美国麻省理工学院和宾州州立大学的教授。自1989年至今他担任美国Fresno加州州立大学计算机科学教授。在这些大学中,他为大学本科生和研究生讲授多门计算机专业课程。他自1978年以来从事高等计算机结构和并行处理教学的科研工作,并在1982-1986年间出版“并行处理计算机结构”和“计算机组织与结构”两本著作,二者曾经在大学中作为计算机科学和计算机工程专业教科书。他目前的研究兴趣早并行和分布处理。金波,博士,在中国西南交通大学获得计算机科学学士学位和在美国宾州州立大学获得计算机工程硕士和博士学位,1993-1995年她在美国ChristopherNewport大学担任计算机科学助理教授。1995-1999年她加入到美国Meredith学院的教授队伍,并有将近一年的离职在Morotola公司担任高级设计工程师。自2001年至今她在Salem州立学院担任副教授。在前后8年的教学工作中,她曾经讲授多门计算机科学和计算机工程专业课程。她目前的研究兴趣是数据挖掘,人工神经网络以及并行和分布计算机系统。本书是大学本科计算机科学和计算机专业讲授“计算机组织”课程的教科书或教学参考书。其内容的深度和广度,既适用于大学本科的课堂教学,也适用于计算机专业技术人员阅读参考。本书内容自成体系,深入浅出地介绍了计算机各主要功能部件的组成原理,通过具体的性能分析,了解其基本设计方法。为了适应广大读者不同的专业背景以及不同专业课程体系对“计算机组织”课程内容的要求,本书在选材上着重考虑从基本内容(数字信息和基本逻辑设计)出发,逐步深入到计算机各主要功能部件以及由它们相互连接组成的数据路径和控制器的设计。本书区别于其他同类教材的主要特点之一是将同时出版由原作者撰写的英文和中文教材,以便于大学推广双语教学,并将有利于学生在学习本书的同时,提高英文阅读写作能力,同进还可以进一步参考有关的英文文献。
