麦秸垛：英文版

　　本书选取了女作家铁凝的《没有钮扣的红衬衫》、《哦，香雪》、《麦秸垛》、《孕妇和牛》等十一篇作品。 作为一个女作家，铁凝一直关注女性的感情及命运。她的小说常以普通人的普通生活为表现对象，通过平凡的日常事物的描写，来揭示人物的心灵世界，并借助人物心灵深处的触动传达具有时代特征的情绪。《哦，香雪》描写一个农村少女香雪在火车站用一篮鸡蛋向一个女大学生换来一只渴望已久的铅笔盒，表现了农村少女的纯朴可亲和对现代文明的向往。中篇小说《没有纽扣的红衬衫》则真实描写一个少女复杂矛盾的内心世界和纯真美好的品格。铁凝善于从自己独特的视角捕捉人物内心的活动，从中反映人们的理想与追求，矛盾与痛苦，语言柔婉清新。

　　Born in Beijing in 1957，Tie Ning graduated from senior middle school in Baoding， Hebei Province in 1975 and in the same year went to the countryside to experience rural life. In 1979 she was transferred to the Baoding Branch of the Chinese Federation of Art and Literature and in 1984 to the Creative Writing Workshop of Hebei Province. She is now vice chairperson of the Chinese Writers Association and chairperson of the Hebei Provincial Writers Association.Since 1980， Tie Ning has published Path in the Night and other collections of short stories and novellas. Other representative works of hers include Rose Gate， The Bathing Girl and The Twelfth Night.
