　　One day in February 2007， in Huairou District， BeijingMunicipality， more than 300 migrant farmer-workers crowded into theLegal Aid Center， so tightly that it was impossible to move. Thesemigrant farmer-workers were from Hebei， Henan， Sichuan and otherprovinces， working in Huairou. They came to ask the legal center tohelp them solve a problem regarding their wages， totaling nearly500，000 yuan， defaulted by four labor companies since October 2006.At that time， it was only a little more than half a month beforethe Spring Festival， the most important traditional Chineseholiday， with every family expecting to be united. Butunfortunately， these migrant workers did not even have enough moneyto cover their trips home.
