This report present a comprehensive review of the current status of the development of low-carbon model towns in China from aspects of the overview, concept, practices, and international cooperation, in the context of the low-carbon model town project of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)First, we introduce the status of the growth of energy consumption, urbanization, addressing global climate change, and pilots of low-carbon model towns in China. Second, based on the specific national situation of China, we propose the basic concept and main approaches of the development of low-carbon model downs in China. Combined with typical cases of Chinese towns, we introduce the practices of the development of low-carbon model towns in China in detail. Finally, we review the progress of the international cooperation demonstrating the low-carbon model towns in China.
