  The book starts, in Chapter 1, with an overview of the current status of geomechanical model tests and infrared detection, followed by an introduction to some theoretical aspects of infrared physics and algorithms used in the infrared image processing (Chapter 2). Geomechanical model construction is presented in Chapter 3.In Chapters 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, application of infrared thermography in the geomecharucal model tests on tunnel excavations and roadway stability assessments in differently inclined rock strato are presented respectively with a detailed description of the experimental methods, testing procedures, imaging processing algorithms and findings obtained from characterization of the thermal sequences.The intended readers may fall into three groups.The first group is the undergraduate science major students who may want to learn in depth aboutthe topic of this bookIn this case, the publication can complement an advanced text book.The second may be the engineers who will find valuableinformation about the practical application of the TNDE technique.The last group includes the graduate students, Ph. D students and researchers whowill find the systematic introduction of the principles, methods and algorithms for construction of the geomechanical models, performing the infrared detection, processing and characterization of the obtained thermal images.

作者简介

  Weili Gong obtained his Ph. D. in 1999 at the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). He was working as a postdoctoral fellow on engineering mechanics from 1999 to 2001 at China University of Mining and Technology Beijing (CUMTB) and spent his professional career in fluid mechanics at School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering, CUMTB, as associate professor from 2001-2013-in teaching and research.Jiong Wang obtained his Ph. D. in 2011 at the China University of Mining and Technology Beijing(CUMTB). He has been working as a senior research fellow on rock mechanics at State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics and Deep Underground Engineering and a lecturer on engineering mechanics at the School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering, CUMTB, from 2011 till now.Dongqiao Liu obtained his Ph. D. in 2014 at the China University of Mining and Technology Beijing (CUMTB).From 2014, he is working as a principal investigator at State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics and Deep Underground Engineering, CUMTB.His personal research interests involve rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering. He has written over 20 scientific papers on these subjects.
