本教材主要面向来华短期进修教学项目，也适用于国内外其他各类普及型汉语进修教学项目。教材的初中高三级既相互衔接，又具有一定的独立性，可根据需要单独使用；学习者可从头学起，也可以从其中某一册开始学起。It is targeted at short-term Chinese training programs in China as well as other universally-oriented Chinese training programs. The three levels are interrelated and independent to a certain extent so that users can choose the one（s） they need. Students can start with Book 1 or any other volume based on their own level of proficiency.
