He grew up in Northern Nevada， where physicists were scarce， and knows he's unique in having worked for a living as a material expediter， warehouseman， union electrician and a design engineer. He once re-keyed 200 apartment locks to make survival money， and he's fixed more than one19th century pocket watch for the pleasure of making it go. He can deal with data like an experimentalist， has won awards for million-dollar research， and has generated licensed intellectual property dealing with real-world applications. Yet for some reason his passion in life is to understand nature in its most simple perfect form， and teach anyone who wants to hear about it.
