In addition, the 9th Panchen Erdeni Chogyal Nyima, and the 13th Dalai Lama Tubdain Gyatso presented abundant gifts to the Qing Court, with the Silver Manza and Silver Dharma Wheel having the most distinctive features. The Manza, in the shape of a round plate, is made of pure silver. Its head is well polished to shine, and its body carries auspicious patterns. It was one of the gifts the 9th Panchen Erdeni Chogyal Nyima presented to Empress Dowager Cixi to celebrate her 60th birthday in 1895 or the 21st year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu. The Silver Dharma Wheel, 30 cm high and 21 cm in diameter, is embossed and gilded, hollowed out in the center and inlaid with red, blue and green gems. It was presented by the 13th Dalai Lama Tubdain Gyatso, to the Qing Court in 1898 or the 24th year of the reign of Qing Emperor Guangxu. Due to their refined workmanship and profound connotations, these gifts were taken as the precious materials marking the close relationship between the local government of Tibet and the Central Government of the Qing Dynasty, as well as cultural relics with great values on art appreciation and research.
